So here I am in my dorm, it's now March and we're on week 7 of 16 here at the University of Houston.
I have begun to put more thought into my future, specifically my career. I, of course, still want to be a History Teacher. But I also recognize that perhaps I will not be able to get to be one right off the bat. I fear that if I am not able to coach, I can't be a History Teacher. It seems that Social Studies teachers in general are for some odd reason meant to be coaches.
If I had to, sure - I'll coach a team. I may not do it well and I may cause the team to fail, but hey - I'll be a history teacher.
There are three particular districts which I've also considered working for. The first is very obviously the district where I went to school basically most of my life. From 3rd grade and up.
However, if that district is not hiring a teacher with my qualifications yet, I would have to look for other places. There is one district right next to my #1 District which should be able to be just as good.
A third district would probably be around where UH-Clear Lake is located.
I'm going for nicer schools. Not that I have a problem with a school if it's not as nice as the districts I want to go to, but those are the districts I'm most familiar with. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
I am really wanting to fast forward and become a History Teacher already. I have these ideas in my head of how I want to teach my students, what techniques I might use, etc. I can't wait to actually use these ideas.
That's all I really have to say for now.
Have a good one everyone!

A Week Later
I'm here a week later sitting again in Cougar Woods. Only this time, I'm working on Early Civilization stuff. I'm reading from the book and writing notes for the quiz I have in exactly one hour from now.
I'm having fun here. I'm taking more of the classes I want to take. And I am getting an apartment next semester. I really am having a good time. I don't have a lot to say today, but I wanted to kind of post something.

Second Day of Second Semester
So it's now my second semester here at the University of Houston. Second day. Both days I've been here now it has rained. Today there are flash flood warnings. Why is it that both of my semesters have started off with rain?
Perhaps it's the fates telling me to cease my course of action. But will I listen? Of course not. I'm pretty stubborn.
My Spanish class today got cancelled. So now I'm sitting around in the dining hall waiting until 4:00 PM for when my Early Civilizations class comes around. The dining hall is actually pretty close to the class. And since it's raining, I don't feel like walking all the way back to my dorm just to walk back in the rain.
This blog is actually pretty new. I just opened it today, except I've used Google Blogger for a long time. I want somewhere to document my thoughts, so I figured why not do it online for everyone to laugh at?
This should be fun.
